Spinning

Spinning ® is indoor cycling on specially designed bikes.

Spinning classes are led by an inspiring instructor using invigorating music and visualisation techniques to give you an effective work-out. Everyone can benefit from the Spinning classes at SiB. Whether you are a professional cyclist or completely new to cycling, you will find it an effective form of exercise.

 

By adjusting the resistance at the bike yourself, you can simulate different types of terrain and choose the intensity you prefer. Unlike some forms of cardio training, spinning can boast a low injury rate. Spinning also requires little in terms of co-ordination, and is therefore a form of exercise for everyone!

We have three training centers which offer spinning (indoor cycling); Fantofthallen, Lehmkuhlhallen and Vektertorget. All of the centers have top modern spinning bikes. Our spinning instructors are  profesionally qualified, most of them with diplomas from the Mad Dogg Athletics spinning education programme. Our spinning classes vary in intensinity, technique and duration.

 

Spinning

The spinning classes are green on the timetable. The intensity is described as percentages of maximal heart rate. The higher the percentage, the higher the intensity.

SE: Spinn Endurance. The heart rate is kept between 65-75 % of HRmax. An easy class.

SS: Spinn Strength. A class with lots of hills, the heart rate is kept between 75-85 % of HRmax.

S45: 45 minutes. There is one peak where the heart rate goes up to 75 - 85 % of HRmax. Beginners/ Intemediate.

S60: 60 minutes. Two peaks up to 80-90 % of HRmax. Intermediate

S75: 75 minutes. 3 peaks up to 80-90% of HRmax, Intermediate to advanced.

S90: 90 minutes. 3 peaks up to 80-90% of HRmax, Intermediate to advanced.

SA: Spinning where we take part in a cycling race through film, no instructor. Up to 80 - 90% of HRmax.

SA (I): As above with an instructor. Up to 80 - 90% of HRmax.

SI: 60 minutes. Spinning Intervals. A tough class, intensity up to between 85 - 95 % of HRmax.

Tema S: Spinning class, with a different theme each time, e.g a specific terrain or type of music (announced at the center). The intensity of theme classes varies accordingly.
