You have received a lease, what do you do now?
If you wish to accept the offer: Sign one copy and return it to SiB Housing within the deadline given. If you have a Norwegian bankaccount you may sign using BankId. Please notify us if you plan to move in later than 3 weeks after the start of your tenancy. The deposit must be paid before you move in, via e-commerce from "My Page" with Bankaxess (if you have BankId), Visa or Mastercard. We will not hand out the keys until the deposit is paid and it`s not possible to pay at the reception.
If you wish to turn down the offer: Decline the offer on the "My Page", or send us an e-mail .
Where do I pick up keys?
Keys must be obtained from the reception at the Student Centre (Parkveien 1). At times there will be long queues, so please feel free to visit the café on the 3rd floor, or SiB`s bookstore, Studia ,while you are waiting. To avoid the long queues, you will not get some practical information at the reception and for extended information we refer to our website: www.sib.no. If you are going to stay at Fantoft or Hatleberg you will have the opportunity to attend on information meetings held by the resident`s assistants at the beginning of each semester.
Rent
The invoice for the rent will be accessible on the "My Page" from the beginning of each month, and we advise you to pay directly using Bankaxess, Visa or Mastercard. You will be notified by e-mail when the invoices are available. It is not possible to pay the rent before you move in. If you have a Norwegian bankaccount, we encourage you to use e-invoice.
The Tenancy Agreement
The tenancy period is stated on the agreement. You may terminate the lease by giving a 2 months notice, or renew the lease at a later date. We will send information on how to extend it. Please note that the rent will be charged from the date the lease begins to the date the lease expires, regardless of when you move in / out.
Furniture
The rooms normally contains a bed, a desk with a chair and a wardrobe, with the following unfurnished exceptions: Grønneviksøren, Gyldenpris - bachelor flat, Fridalen, Fosswinckelsgate 67 - family apartment, Nattland and Fantoft Family Student Housing. Termination of the lease before you have moved in
If you wish to cancel the signed offer before the lease starts, you will be charged an administration fee of 2000 NoK. If you cancel less than 3 weeks before the lease starts you will be charged rent for the termination period, 2 months, counting from the day the lease starts. Make sure to give us a written notice by e-mail as soon as possible, giving your full name, e-mail address, account number, and the tenant number (located on the lease).
