Termination notice

Remember that when you move out, there is a  months termination notice. This means that from the day that you cancel your room, you will have two more months to pay the rent. So it's might be a good idea to cancel your room about 2 months before you want to move out.

Termination

You can terminate your room om MyPage. You can logg in with your username and password from SiB. Go to your contracts, and cancel it there. After that, you have 2 months termination notice.

Cleaning

When you move out, you have to clean the entire room. An exact explanation of how and what to clean, you will find on http://www.sib.no/hostels/cleaning-instructions/fantoft/.

 

Some main points:

Wood: All wood in your room should be cleaned with grean soap. Remember to also clean the drawers, the chair and the wooden frame on the wall.

Kichen: If you have your own kitchen, make sure that the fridge is cleaned, both inside and outside. Remember to clean underneath and behind the fridge as well. All the steal should be cleaned, and put the filter in a bucket of warm water so that the fat will come off.

Walls: Should be cleaned with soap water.

Bathroom: clean the walls with scouring pastes, and remember to wash the toilet.

Textiles: Curtains and and shower curtains should be washes at 40 degrees, and the mattress covers at 40-60 degrees.

Also remember to empty your storage room!

Your room will be checked by the cleaning department the day you move out, but you have to make an appointment with them to make sure you will be there when they come. This you do by sending an email to renhold.fantoft@sib.no. If they say it is not clean enough, you will get the chance to clean it again, but this should be done the same day. If the room is not clean enough, they will deduct an amount from your deposit.

Handing in of the keys

The keys need to be handed in at the reception (Studentcentre) latest at noon the day you are moving out. If you are too late, they will charge you for using the room an extra day.
