Cleaning instructions for room/apartment Fantoft

Woodwork

Clean with lukewarm water with liquid detergent (“grønnsåpe”). To remove stains scrub with brown nylon pad, first across the wood-fibres, than the same way as the fibres. Wipe with a dry cloth; make sure there is no excessive water left on the wooden surface this will cause new spots on the woodwork. Remember also to clean under and inside drawers, chairs (armrests) and board above the bed.

Kitchen

Defrost the refrigerator and clean with warm water and liquid detergent. Do not use pointed objects for de-icing as it can cause damage to the cooling element. Clean the refrigerator inside and outside, remember to clean above and under (pull it out on the floor). Rinse and dry the dustbin. Scrub the stainless steel plate, sink and tap with scouring paste (Jif scouring-paste not Jif Micro). Remember to scrub around the hot plate. Use white pad when cleaning formica- plates in rehabilitated kitchens. Also in rehabilitated kitchens, place the filter in the vent over the hotplates in hot soapy water (the filter is removed by pulling straight downwards) so that the fat dissolves, clean with brush, let dry and replace.

Walls

Remove spots with lukewarm water and liquid detergent. If necessary you can scrub.

Bathroom

Clean the wash- basins with Jif scouring paste, remember the taps and the strainer. Use the same detergent as on the wash- basin on the WC-bowl, remember to clean under and behind the lid. Remove the strainer in the floor, clean it and remove hair etc in the gully. To clean the walls and floor-covering: soak with soapy water, apply the Jib scrubbing paste, leave it on for 5 minutes and scrub from the floor and upwards. Use white pad when cleaning formica-plates in rehabilitated bathrooms. Rinse and dry, repeat until all stains have come off.

Textile

Curtains must be cleaned in the washing machine on 30 – 40 degrees on gentiles wash, iron them and hang them back up, you can also hang them up when they are wet. All the wool covers must be vacuumed (bed, chair and cushions.) Mattresses covers in the double bed must be cleaned in the washing machine on 40 – 60 degrees. The shower curtain must also be cleaned in the washing machine on 40 degrees, hang it up and fold it out so it want get sticky.

Finally

Remove dust and clean the floors, don't forget behind and under the bed and sitting bench (lift up the bed), floor skirting, lamps, light switch and sockets.

Remove garbage and clear the stall.

If anything is wrong/missing in your room you have to send a damage report before moving out.
